Tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:

Sticking to a budget:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, management companies supply Ocracoke area visitors guides which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Ocracoke visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Make a plan and choose a perfect Ocracoke rental:

  • Start by choosing vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. The Mary Francis: Dog friendly, near Springers Point and Lighthouse has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a specific Ocracoke beach you are crazy about, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. message the host immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
