The location is within walking distance to Silver Lake and the stores and eateries and is spitting distance from the British Cemetery. The beach is a mile from the rental. There is a Intelligent TV in the first bedroom and living room with internet and cable. You will need your own Netflix, Hulu or Amazon account, and for those that are not tech savvy, we have cable. Finding the best Ocracoke rental experience:

Find your best deal:

  • In the Ocracoke area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Ocracoke area travel guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Ocracoke area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing and booking the best Ocracoke vacation home:

  • Choose your dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Cottage, great for a couple or small family. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your family is bringing pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the host right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
