This unique, Ocracoke Island rental home sits on nearly an acre, in a peaceful setting. Piper Green features vaulted ceilings and many windows, making it open, light, and airy. Some of our guests liken Piper Green to being in a treehouse, appreciating the unique seclusion and generous windows with tons of natural light in the living area. 3 bedrooms, 2 Baths: 2 Bedrooms each with a Double Bed, 1 Bedroom with a Bunk Bed. One bathroom has shower only. Conveniences include central air conditioning/heat, cable TV, and DVD in the second floor sitting area. The washer/dryer is located down a walkway, in the outdoor laundry and guest storage shed. The exterior offers a deck and two screened porches, outdoor dining table and hot/cold outdoor shower. *This home does not provide linens. No Internet Access. No Smoking. Pet Friendly - Dogs Only. Limit of 2 Dogs. Limit of 3 cars. Short Stays are available; there is a three-nighttime minimum, and these stays can be booked within two weeks of arrival. Property Layout: First Floor: Open kitchen, dining, and living area with TV/DVD. Bedroom with Double bed. Bath with shower. Second Floor: Sitting Area. Bedroom with Double Bed. Bedroom with Bunk Bed. Sticking to a spending plan:

  • Summer months are high season in Ocracoke. Book your Ocracoke rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.

  • Property managers often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Ocracoke visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
