How to find the best rental experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Ocracoke. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
  • In the Ocracoke area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • Select your vacation dates and budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. The Berkley Manor - An estate on Silver Lake has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. Otherwise, call the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your agreement.

Have a great stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. text the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
