The holidays and the history of Ocracoke Island are deliciously combined in this annual tour that shines a spotlight on some of the most distinctive and unique properties in Ocracoke village. The Historic Home Tour, which is presented by the Ocracoke Preservation Society, gives locals and visitors alike an opportunity to peek into some of the most stunning homes on the island, while enjoying a little local flavor and history, and a wealth of spirited holiday décor.

Ocracoke village has been inhabited by a small group of locals for hundreds of years, and as a result, the small four-square mile town has a surprisingly large array of homes that have been standing for generations. During this special holiday-themed tour, visitors can enjoy a sneak peek into some of these residences, which will be decked out for the holidays with lights, colorful décor, and / or all of the above. The event is hosted by the Ocracoke Preservation Society, which is a prime destination on the heart of the village for discovering the region’s rich history. Fun for history buffs and holiday fans alike, this tour is a great way to uncover the rich and always fascinating history of Ocracoke Island.
