The private entrance is located on the left side of the building leading to an arrangement of a studio which is cavernous and comfortable. Down an attached and adjacent is private hallway is the private full bath and additional queen bedroom.

The building sits in the middle of our little island 30 miles off the mainland accessible only by ferry boat
Be sure to read everything including post booking messages so you know to bring linens and towels and SPECIFICALLY! how guests need to set up check in time by cell or text, cell phone listed,.

There are 4 ferry lines that service this island. All run differently and time is unpredictable without a reservation. Many times on this island without a bridge, guests have come for first time, arrive to ferry late and ended up sleeping in cars till next day. Finest I can do is say that here. Means be responsible know where you're headed, check schedules. Unless you live next island over, could be a long day just getting here.

Telephone or text my cell morning of travels. Everything in the home is new finishings. Roomy room. You'll adore the island and my location and space. Does require additional effort to preview and plan.

**(the listed rate covers 2 guests, there is a fee for any addition persons. Kids 12 or under are complimentary though again, limit 2 under 13.
Animals fee also applicable depending on the unit you book if they are allowed and not more than 35lbs. limited 2, and must be marked and paid at booking page. ** ANY of this not marked and paid for at the point of booking, I reserve the right to cancel the booking at the point of check in without refund. It's not a loud event home and OWNER reserves the right to cancel the booking (removing the guests) with or without refund, of any guests who do not abide by these home rules or demonstrate a lack of care towards the property or others while here. This is not just a business, it's my home.

*it's important to me to note that this home was rebuilt using most materials purchased and transported from Habitat For Humanity. It has been a dream of mine to make this kind of contribution using most of the design tile work here, all of the cabinetry work purchases, all the interior fans and most of the appliances purchased this manner.
No franchises are allowed on island so all the fish markets and eateries are locally owed as are most all the businesses, family owned and operated.
This home sits within walking distance to it all.

Important for guests to contact owner by cell phone supplied, the (morning) of check in date to establish the check in time based on your ferry plans.

Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Ocracoke vacation rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in Ocracoke. To find the most suitable rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Ocracoke restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Ocracoke vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Ocracoke visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • To start, have your group select trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. FBO studio (Handicap accessible), East Coast best kept secret getaway spot. has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Ocracoke rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is right for your group.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Have a great stay:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas during arrival. text the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
